On the market only since December 8, 2009, Affiliate Genie does what an Internet marketer needs a CMS system to do – nothing more, nothing less.
At first glance, you can see the Wordpress heritage – just minus the bells and whistles.
Chris Rempel’s system builds on his affiliate marketing philosophy:
1. create articles and reviews in tight, profitable niche markets
2. use HTML and PHP without a database, not Wordpress
3. build sites that attract ultra-targeted buyers
4. publishing product reviews and product-related articles and content is the simplest possible way to suck in traffic from long-tail “buyer keywords” in the search engines
5. presents a main “promo” affiliate at the top of each page
6. convert targeted visitors into buying
CR does not rely on gimmicks, lists, PPC, or any latest fad or trick. The idea is that you don’t need a ton of visitors to your website, just the ones with credit cards in hand. Let the other guys educate. You want to jump into the visitor’s buying cycle when they are ready to act.
How to maximize the value of Affiliate Genie:
1. follow the included manuals – why reinvent the wheel
2. create unique content
3. start with quantity – you can edit at any time
4. the money is in the review
5. link every free social media resource to your reviews
6. within a month, add video to the daily results pages
Hundreds of free, organic resources are available to drive traffic to your reviews. Many authority social media sites give one-way backlinks to your reviews giving your sites Google “juice” and a targeted visitor.
My initial sites built with AG have over delivered. What I find thrilling is:
* compliance with FTC guidelines as to online reviews, endorsements, testimonials, and affiliate links
* edit built in privacy policy and disclaimer pages
* customize colors and logo in seconds
* clean, simple templates create a consistent look across all of your sites
* rate each product 1 to 5 stars
* disclosure of whether or not the author has tested or just researched the product
* pages load faster than Wordpress
* modifying and customizing content is more than easy
* instantly add scripts like Google Analytics
* simple one-click backup
NOTE: While Chris Rempel (AG creator) hates spinners, I believe there is a legitimate use. Maybe he is talking about automatic spinners that create unnatural content.
Most bookmarking sites give you space for a summary or comment of the item bookmarked. A good spinner can create endless short, unique comments to prevent any rare but possible duplicate content penalties.
Every product lacks something we might want. The only issues I find irritating are:
1. don’t use special characters in the title, or the page won’t save
2. category system is a bit clumsy
3. unlike WP, AG does cost a few bucks
In short, dump Wordpress and concentrate on marketing, not pretty themes and plugins.
